Ingredients
- Split Red Gram (Kadalaparupu) - 1 Cup
- Tomatoes - 4
- Onions - 2 Medium
- Ginger Paste - 1 tsp
- Garlic Crushed - 1 tsp
- Coconut Powder - 4 tsp
- Coriander Leaves - a fist full
- Curry Leaves - 10 to 15
- Okra - 4
- Brinjal - 3
- Green Chilli - 4
- Oil - 50 gms
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Cummin seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Asafoetida - 2 pinches
- Salt to taste
- Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric - 3/4 tsp
- Tamarind paste - 3 tsp

Method
- Cut all the vegetables i.e, tomatoes, okras, brinjals, onions into large pieces slightly larger than bite sized pieces. Keep aside.
- Pressure-cook the split red gram with enough water to become very soft.
- In a large pot heat oil and add mustard and cummin seeds. When they start to split, add green chillies, curry leaves and asafoetida.
- Immediately add five cups of water, vegetable pieces, tamarind paste, turmeric, salt and red chilli powder and on medium heat bring to a boil.
- Cook for 10 more minutes or until the vegetable pieces are soft.
- Now add the cooked red gram, stir well and cook for 10 more minutes.
- Now add sambar powder, ginger-garlic paste and coconut powder, coriander leaves, one-tsp sugar, and stir well.
- Cook for 10 more minutes with low flame and cover.
- Remove from heat.
- Serve hot with Idly, Dosa and plain white Rice.

Day 01: Delhi - Rishikesh ( 230km, Drive 6hrs )
On this day one of adventure experiences in India, Drive to Rishikesh and check in to hotel Natraj on arrival. Relax or take a wildlife safari in the evening to Rajaji National park which boasts of wildlife including big Cats, Elephants, Antelope, Wild boar and a variety of birds.Overnight at hotel at Rishikesh.
Day 02: Rishikesh - Chopta (180kms, 6-7hrs )
On this day two of adventure experiences in India, drive to Chopta, which is one of the most beautiful spots in this part of the Himalayas passing through lush green landscapes, often
remarked as Mini Switzerland, stretching almost 40 kms. It is an ideal example of environmental conservation, where all construction is banned for the cause. Apart from humans it is also inhabited by rare Himalayan species like the Snow Leopard, Musk deer, snow fox, Monal etc. Altitude varies from 6000 ft to 13,000 ft, Put up camp on arrival and relax in the evening. Overnight stay at Camp.
Day 03: Chopta - Deoriatal ( 20kms drive, 6km trek)
Drive to sari village in 1hr and then trek to Deoriatal which is a lake at a high altitude of 5000ft with a lovely view of the 23,000ft high Chaukhamba peaks. Return to Chopta in the evening. Overnight stay at Camp.
Day 04: Chopta - Tungnath (7kms, 4-5hrs)
During this day of adventure experiences in India, start the trek in the morning on a steep climb of 3.5kms to reach 1,000 yr. old Tunganath temple. Go further up half a kilometer to almost 13,000ft for the most breathtaking view of the high Himalayas from Chandrashila Peak. Come down to Chopta in the afternoon. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Camp. All this while, when you are in and around Chopta, keep looking for the elusive snow-leopard, a rear sight for the lucky ones. Overnight stay at Camp.
Day 05: Chopta - Haridwar (210kms 7-8hrs)
Drive back to Haridwar, which is the holiest town in the Hindu religion. Enroute visit Devprayag, the confluence of Rivers Bhagirathi and Alaknanda, which combine to become the holy Ganges at this point. Check in on arrival. Overnight at hotel in Haridwar
Day 06: Haridwar
Spend the day in exploring the traditions and cultures of India on the banks of the holy river Ganges. Overnight at hotel in Haridwar
Day 07: Haridwar - Delhi (200kms, 5 hrs)
After a leisurely breakfast, drive back to Delhi. Now get ready to journey back to Home with happy memories.
