The flora of the park is of sultry dry deciduous forest of tainted nature. The park harbors over 600 plant species ranging from bryophytes, Pteridophytes, Herbs, Shrubs, Climbers and Trees. The vegetative cover displays a medley of woodland and grasslands. Well-known trees are Teak, Rosewood, Sandalwood, Neem, Bamboo, etc.
The park is a home to many wild life species including Sambar, Cheetal, Wild Boar, Porcupine, Hare, Forest Cat, Civet Cat, Mongoose.
It is a home for many diverse species of birds including Peacocks, Warblers, Babblers, Flower Peckers, Partridges, Lapwings, Ducks, Curlews and Quails.
More than 20 species of butterflies and several hundred species of other insects and worms can be viewed in this nature's retreat.
Pleasant for most part of the year with winter temperature at around 11 degrees C and summer around 40 degrees C. Annual rainfall is around 750 mm.
The park boasts an Environmental Education Center with an auditorium, a well-stocked library and a museum with wildlife exhibits.
Customary nature camps are conducted for school children taking them for nature walk, bird watching and safari ride. Snake show with live specimens is an added draw.
