Dona Paula Beach
Small yet most popular beach for water sports, Dona Paula Beach has a folklore associated with it. It is believe by the locals the beach is named after a girl, Dona Paula de Menzes. Although the daughter of a Viceroy in colonial India, she fell in love with a local fisherman, Gasper Dias. She was denied the permission to marry him by her father. Therefore, she killed herself by throwing herself off the cliff and was buried in the Cabo Chapel of the Raj Bhawan. Locals also believe that she emerges out from the sea waves on a moonlit night wearing only a pearl necklace.
Mobor Beach
Mobor lies on a narrow cape of ridge of sand between the Arabian Sea and Assolna River Estuary. Mobor Beach is an attractive and most happening beach at the end of the 10 km long beach extending all the way from Colva.
Majorda Beach
Majorda is a small stretch of a beach 5 km from Colva Beach. Popular among the tourists, you will that there are provision for beach umbrellas and reclining pool chairs for the tourists. Make use of them to relax on the beach under the sun to get a tan and watch the activities of other tourists.
Miramar Beach
Miramar is mere 3 km fro the capital of Goa, Panaji. The beach is just next to the estuary of the river Mandovi as it falls into the Arabian Sea. Earlier it was known as the "Gasper Dias Beach".
Palolem Beach
Palolem is the first beach of Goa that you may come across when coming from Karnataka. Palolem is another fishing beach in Goa. The tempting aroma of the fresh seafood being cooked on the local seaside food joints arouses the taste buds to try them out. You may also shop for the souvenirs and curios from the plenty of small shops selling souvenirs and bright colorful clothes.
Sinquerim Beach
13 km from Panaji, Sinquerim beach is the first tourist beach of north Goa. The Aguada Bay is divided into two parts known as the Carnzalem Bay and the other is the Sinquerim Bay.
Vagator Beach
Vagator Beach is very near to the Anjuna Beach. Beach looks captivating with abundant natural beauty of the cliff tops and dried grasslands. ruined farmhouses and pretty Portuguese bungalows form the attractive background of Vagator. The Vagator Beach with white sands is also popular as the "Little Vagator".
Varca Beach
Varca is very close to Benaulim. It is an isolated and clean beach. Only crowd you will find here is of the vegetation of small trees and shrubs. What will catch you sight are the rows of wooden fishing boats on the beach. They belong to the Christian fishing community who live in the nearby grassy dunes. Their houses are roofed with palm thatches.
