Day 02: Chennai
You second day of South India tour will begin with the tour of the Chennai City. You will visit some of the major landmarks in the city that are also places of tourist interest. They include Kabalishwara Temple, Santhome Church, St. George Fort and Madras (Chennai) Museum. Santhome Church derives its name from St. Thomas Mount who was believed to have been confined in Santhome Beach where the church was built. Day 03: Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram

The visit to the temples is followed by a drive to Mahabalipuram and an overnight stay at that place.
Day 04: Mahabalipuram
The fourth day will be spent in Mahabalipuram in sightseeing including visit to Arjuna's Penance, Five Rathas, Shore Temple, Tiger Cave and Krishna's Butter Ball. The significance of Arjuna's Penance lies in the fact that it is one of the largest bas reliefs in the world. The Five Rathas are the five monolithic temples but distinctly different from each other. The fourth night is to be spent in Mahabalipuram itself.
Day 05: Pondicherry
The fifth day's tour begins with a drive to Pondicherry, visiting Auroville en route. On reaching Pondicherry you will be checking into a hotel. Lunch is followed by a visit to the Aurobindo Ashram. Overnight stay at the hotel in Pondicherry.
Day 06: Chidambaram - Kumbakonam - Darasuram

This temple in Chidambaram is associated with Nataraja or Lord Shiva in his Cosmic Dance of Bliss. Lunch is followed by a drive to Gangai kondacholapuram, Kumbakonam and Darasuram. Day 07: Tanjore
At Tanjore half of the day will be devoted to visit Bragadeeshwara Temple, Art Gallery and Palace. The Bragadeeshwara Temple is renowned for its engraved pillars and huge gopurams. The visit to the Tanjore Art Gallery will be an enlightening while the sight of the Tanjore Royal Palace will make history come alive in front of your eyes. These visitations are followed by a drive to Trichy or Tiruchirapally where you will be required to stay overnight.
Day 08: Trichy
The eighth day of your amazing South India tour will find you exploring the city of Trichy/Tiruchirapalli that includes visits to the ancient Srirangam Vishnu Temple and Rock Fort Temple.
