irrigation project 23 km from Thrissur where boating

Vadakkumnathan Temple - The
temple is famous for ' Thrissur Pooram ' festival.
It is a big tourist attraction. There is a grand display
of richly caparisoned elephants carrying the deity around
the main temple, spectacular firework and drum concerts
at this festival. The festival is celebrated here in
April -May every year. The temple is built on a Kerala
style of architecture.
NEW CHURCH or the
Church of Our Lady of Dollars [called Puthenpalli
locally], It is the biggest church in South Asia . The
Metropolitan of the Chaldean Syrian Church (the name
used for the Church of the East in India ) is also headquartered
in Thrissur.
