Accommodation:

The Poovar Island Resort ,Poovar provides for an elegant stay and offers two types of accommodation.
There are 6 Floating Cottages and 22 Superior (Land) Cottages.

Floating Cottages: These are nestled on the waterfront linked to the island by a bridge. These are constructed on hollow lightweight concrete hulls, the cottages are perfect example of Kerala architecture.

The cottages is made up of Teak wood panels and there are thatched grass roofs.

What you will most enjoy is light swaying of the cottages on the water as if lulling you to a siesta on a bright sunny day.

The Floating Cottages have all the modern facilities like they are air conditioned ,there is provision for Hot water, Telephone & Tea/Coffee maker in the room as well. Also you get a spectacular view from the private balcony which faces the estuary.

Superior Cottages: These are land based cottages and are constructed on stilts on a moat.

Here you will find a private balcony as well as a hammock. Facilities include air conditioning , Color T.V, Hot water,& Telephone. The rooms are aesthetically designed with ethnic decor.

Dining :

Poovar Island Resort in Poovar offers fine dining options and the multi-cuisine restaurant with formal dining lets you enjoy delectable cuisines. There is also a coffee shop with casual dining ambience.You can pamper your taste buds with delicious Kerala, North Indian & Continental cuisine. Barbecue dinners by the poolside along live entertainment is also arranged twice a week.

There is also a Sunken Bar in the swimming pool for those who want to enjoy a refreshing plunge before they settle with a drink.If you want something more sedate then drinks are also offered at the restaurant or the poolside.There is a first Floating Restaurant serving delectable sea food here.
