The five
Jyotirlinga in maharashtra are Aundha Nagnath, Bhimashankar, Ghrishneshwar,
Parali Vajinath, and Trimbakeshwar.
Getting there:
Nearest airport are in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, and Aurangabad. Buses, Private cars and taxis, are all available. Frequent train services are available from Aurangabad and Mumbai and also other cities of Maharashtra. Package tours to these Jyotirlingas are also available.
The Tamilnadu dams are built with both the objectives of irrigating lands and generating hydroelectric power. The rivers flowing across the south Indian state Tamil Nadu is dammed evenly, in such a way that no district is starved for water. Aliyar Reservoir is built across Aliyar River mainly for irrigation purposes near Pollachi in Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu.
Tamilnadu dam - Amaravathi Reservoir is located at Amaravathinagar, very close to the Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary in Coimbatore district. Bhavani River creates the Bhavanisagar Reservoir in the district of Bhavanisagar in Tamil Nadu. Bhavanisagar Dam is also called the Lower Bhavani Dam. The Chittar Reservoir is built on the Chittar River. This river and its five tributaries originate in the cuttralam hills of Tirunelveli District in the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India.

Leave Chennai at 8 AM. Reach Kanchipuram at 11 AM . Distamce - 80 kms. Have darshan at Chitragupta Temple , Ekambeshwara Temple.Shopping, Kanchipuram is also a well known centre of the finest silk sarees made in the country. Evening have darshan at Kailasanatha Temple . Proceed to Pondicherry . Distance 102 kms.
Day 2 : Pondicherry - Rameshwaram (200 kms)- Visit Rameshwaram Temple (Jyotirlinga)
Day 3 : Rameshwaram- Kanyakumari(130 kms)
Reach Kanyakumari.. Located at the Southern most part of India, Kanyakumari is a place at the confluence of the Indian ocean ,the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian sea . Witness the setting sun and the rising moon simultaneously over three oceans. The Vivekananda Rock Memorial, built on a huge rock off the shore off Kanyakumari, marks the spot where Swami Vivekananda. Have darshan at Suchindram Temple and Kanya Devi Temple .
Day 4: Kanyakumari - Trivandrum
Early morning witness the sunrise and leave for Trivandrum Visit Padmanabha Swamy temple enroute . Distance- 90 kms.
